Who is TTO for?
We offer TTO for HAVO and VWO pupils (both atheneum and gymnasium). In the lower years, no less than 50% of your lessons will be in English. In the upper years, this is still a significant amount: 25% of your lessons will be in English.
There are no special requirements to start. If you have a passion for languages, are curious about what is happening in the world and enjoy challenging yourself, then you are very welcome!

A bit of history: TTO at Stedelijk College Eindhoven
Our school started offering bilingual education (TTO) in 1992. We were one of the first schools in the Netherlands to offer this. We started with just a few pupils, but TTO has since grown to become one of the most important pillars of our school. Today, around 40% to 50% of our pupils follow a bilingual programme.
Since 2005, we have been an official Senior TTO school, which means that TTO is available at our school in both the lower and upper years. We are also one of the few schools in the region to offer the IB English Language and Literature course in the upper years, which is specially designed for pupils who are native speakers.
TTO is truly in our DNA: we have the knowledge, experience and passion to help our pupils excel and get the best out of themselves!
Why choose TTO at Stedelijk College Eindhoven?
We strongly believe in bilingual education. English is the most widely spoken language in the world, and we want our students to receive an education that prepares them to achieve their goals anywhere. We want to give our students the best possible education; an education that will guide them to success in whatever field they choose later in life.
Bilingual education opens doors to international studies and internships and helps you better understand the world around you. We provide the right tools and guidance to make your future a reality. In practice, this means that we organise all kinds of fun and educational TTO activities, such as the TTO first-year camp, Highland Games, speaking competitions, projects such as “Diets of the World”, poster competitions for Black History Month and much more.
For us, TTO is not just about learning English. We encourage the personal growth of every student, help them develop global citizenship and celebrate the internationality and unique backgrounds of our TTO students. In short: TTO at our school is challenging, versatile and inspiring, and we are proud of it!
Travel, exchanges and activities
With us, you learn not only in the classroom, but also outside of it. Because the most enjoyable and educational learning happens when you put theory into practice. That is why we organise various trips and activities in each year of the lower school to practise your English and discover your world. Think of a trip to the United Kingdom, but also collaborations with partner schools during the Highland Games or a speaking competition.
The icing on the cake is an international collaboration in the upper years, where you are immersed in a different culture. Here, you use English to communicate with students from countries such as Italy or Spain, while making new friends and getting to know the world in a whole new way.
